Hello, drum world! I hope all is well. This lesson is based around one of my favorite hybrid rudiments, “the cheese”. I just think it’s one of the coolest sounding rudiments around.
I suggest starting this slowly as the sticking pattern is a bit nuts. If you’re struggling with the doubles on the cheeses take them out, work on the flam pattern and put them back in after.
Practice in front of the mirror; keep it loose, as this is a real technique buster. You’ll be using Moeller, finger, free and double strokes. So start it slow and make sure your technique is working for you and you’re letting the sticks do the work and not tensing up.
